What is the scholarship amount?

Undergraduate students in the Rising Leaders program will receive $1,000 for one academic year, split between fall and spring semester installments.

NOTE: The Rising Leaders scholarship cannot be combined with the Emerging Leaders or First Scholars programs.

How many spaces are available, and am I eligible?

The program can accept up to 100 students attending the University of Memphis main campus, including first-time freshmen, transfer students, and current University of Memphis undergraduate students. However, current students must not be graduating in the fall semester during their participation in the program.

Does the Rising Leaders program have a separate application process?

Yes. Students apply online through Tiger Scholarship Manager. Applications open mid-November each year and are due February 1.

To be considered for the program, applicants must submit their applications by the specified date. The review process for all applications will begin after this deadline. Any applications marked as "Drafted" after February 1, 2025, will not be considered.

I was a Rising Leader last year. Can I reapply?

Participants currently enrolled in or have previously completed the Rising Leaders program are not eligible to reapply for the scholarship. This is because the scholarship will be awarded for only one year, ensuring that more students can benefit from the program.
