Sister to Sister: Empowering Women for Safer Choices

What is Sister to Sister?

Sister to Sister is a confidential, one-on-one, 20-minute HIV/STI risk reduction program designed specifically for women in clinical settings. This evidence-based intervention provides women with the knowledge, motivation, and skills to make safer sexual health choices.

Why Participate?
The program helps women:
✔ Understand their personal risk for HIV and STIs
✔ Build confidence in practicing safer sex behaviors
✔ Learn effective condom negotiation strategies
✔ Ensure correct and consistent condom use

How It Works
During your private session, a trained health educator will guide you through a conversation about reducing risk, setting personal goals, and making informed decisions about your sexual health. Whether you have questions about protection methods, partner communication, or STI prevention, this session is tailored to your needs.

Who Can Participate?
Sister to Sister is available to all women receiving services at the University of Memphis Student Health Center. Ask for the social worker (available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) during your visit or schedule a session in advance. Here
