Walter H. Manning Student Award
Dr. Manning has served the UofM and our program for 39 years before retiring at the end of June 2016.
During his time at the UofM, he served as Interim Chair and Associate Dean of the School and is an ASHA Fellow. He has been Associate Editor of the Journal of Fluency Disorders since 1996 and is internationally recognized as a leading scholar on fluency disorders. His book, Clinical Decision Making in Fluency Disorders, is a frequently used text in courses across the U.S., Europe, Australia and South Korea. He received the Sallie Starr Hillard Mentoring Award in 2016.
To honor his service to our School, we are creating a special award to be given to a student with a passion for fluency disorders or counseling as funds are available.
If you would like to donate to this fund, please go to our secure donation site and after selecting "I am donating to CSD Retired Faculty Fund", select "Walter H. Manning" from the drop-down list that appears. We sincerely thank you for your support of our program!
