Coalition of Black Social Workers-University of Memphis (CBSW-UM)

The name of this organization shall be the Coalition of Black Social Workers-University of Memphis Chapter.  The acronym is CBSW-UM.

Mission

The mission of the Coalition of Black Social Workers is as follows: The Coalition of Black Social Workers exists to engage, connect, and empower Black social work students and professionals in the community, with the goal of increasing awareness about issues specific to the Black community and cultivating a network of support.

 

January 2025 

Monday, January 20th, 2025 I Celebrate MLK Day of Service with CBSW:
Visit tthe Civil Rights Museum 450 Mulberry St. 38103.  Free admission 8AM-6PM (CST).  Registration required. Community Over Chaos-Virtual presentaiton begins at 10AM(CST).

CBSW-UM is looking for student leaders dedicated to active pursuit of the mission and goals of the Coalition of Black Social Workers.  CBSW emphases Black Excellence in person and practice.  We need leadership today who will support the vision for tomorrow.  CBSW-UM members are encouraged to consider time and commitment in service to the Coalition of Black Social Workers.  Members are invited to contact Faculty Advisor, Ms. Kenya Anderson, to discuss and explore leadership opportunities.
