Academics
At UofM, we are driven by doing. When it comes to learning we believe the action of putting knowledge into practice is best. The University of Memphis Institute on Disability partners with schools within the university to offer UofM students hands-on, clinical practice in their chosen field. University students studying social work, behavioral sciences or disability and rehabilitation are given the opportunity to put their passion into practice by assisting with case management and developing behavioral plans for UMID students among other things. Professors offer guidance as students gain practical skills that set the foundation for their future while impacting the lives of others.
The UofM College of Professional & Liberal Studies offers a concentration in Disability Studies and Rehabilitation Service (DSRS). The program provides students the resources and knowledge to be academically and professionally grounded in issues faced by individuals seeking disability services.
