Lisa Huffstetler Scholarship

The University of Memphis has established the Lisa Huffstetler Memorial Scholarship in Political Science thanks to a generous donation from Shannon Hayes (BA ‘09). Lisa Huffstetler served as an instructor in the Department of Political Science for over ten years before her untimely passing in 2014. She impacted the lives of her students, colleagues, and friends - leaving a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.

To apply, use the Univerity of Memphis Tiger Scholarship Manager. Applications will be accepted in the fall semester, with the award winners announced in the spring.

Criteria:

• Full-time undergraduates majoring in Political Science, classified as rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors.
• Preference will be given to students who were emancipated minors or adopted during their teenage years.
• A preference for financial need.
• Students must submit personal statement detailing their accomplishments, hardships, interests in Political Science, or other relevant information.
• A minimum GPA of 2.5
