University of Memphis Community Clarinet Festival

The 2023 University of Memphis Community Clarinet Festival is a free, fun, unique musical experience sponsored by the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music.
Clarinetists of all ages are invited to enjoy a day of events celebrating the clarinet. Class topics will include:
- Group warm-up session
- Reed adjustment
- Instrument repair and maintenance
- Performance master class
- Clarinet choir reading session
- Guest artist recital by Dr. Kimberly Cole Luevano

Check-in will begin at 11:30 am in SFPAC and group sessions will include:

12:00-12:30: warm-up session led by Dr. Robyn Jones
Learn how to structure your warm-up session -
12:30-1:15: Clarinet repair/maintenance with Chris Humphrey

1:30-3:15: master class with Dr. Kimberly Cole Luevano
-Performance opportunity for high school and university students
-Tips for Building your technique -
3:30-4:15: Reed Class with Dr. Robyn Jones
Hands-on class where you can try different methods of working on your clarinet reeds -
4:30-5:15: Clarinet Choir Reading Session

5:30-6:30: Guest Artist Recital with Dr. Kimberly Cole Luevano, clarinet and Jonathan Tsay, piano (Harris Concert Hall)

General Parking Lot (Lot 44 + 46): A general parking lot is located around the Scheidt Center with entrances on both
Central Ave. and Poplar Ave.
Handicap Parking: Several spaces are located near the east and west entrances of the
Scheidt Center.
