Biography

Pavankumar Mulgund is an Assistant Professor at the University of Memphis, Tennessee, in the Department of Management Information Systems. He holds a PhD in Management Science and Systems from SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Mulgund's research interests are in digital health interventions and their impact on different stakeholders like patients, providers, payers, and public health organizations. He is also knowledgeable about technology strategy, information systems security, and using advanced technologies like AI, IoT and blockchain in health information technology.

In addition to publishing several papers in academic and industry journals, Dr. Mulgund frequently speaks at IS conferences. He teaches various graduate-level courses, including Information Systems Security, Machine Learning and Business Analytics, Database Management Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Data Visualization with Tableau and Experiential IT projects.

Before becoming a professor, he worked in corporate and consulting roles. He led product and delivery teams for a contractor of the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and also worked for companies like IBM and Mindtree. Dr. Mulgund has professional licenses and certifications in project management, Agile methodologies, design thinking and digital business.
