Bizot Family Professorship in History

The Bizot Family Professorship in History is the first-ever permanent named professorship in the Department of History at the University of Memphis. The Bizot Family Professorship is due to the generosity of Emile Bizot, who graduated from Memphis State University in 1960 with a degree in History. Mr. Bizot is a retired financial adviser and a longtime member of the College of Arts & Sciences Dean's Advisory Board. He married Carole Morris in 1957 and their marriage of over 60 years produced two sons and four grandchildren.

Dunavant University Professorships (Arts & Sciences)

Dunavant Professorships are endowed by a generous gift from William Dunavant in honor of Dr. Ralph Faudree who was dean of the college from 1995-2000. The College of Arts and Sciences awards one to four professorships annually. Awardees receive $5,000 per year for three years to support their research programs. Faudree University Professorships

Mr. and Mrs. Jabie Hardin established the Ralph Faudree University Professorships Program to demonstrate their regard and support for Dr. Ralph Faudree, Provost at the University of Memphis (2001-2012).
