Biography
Matthew Lemmond is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at The University of Memphis. With an eye on emergent technology and a balance of aesthetic quality and software, he uses Design Thinking principles to teach students with diverse academic backgrounds the foundations of motion and interaction design. His research meets at the intersection of medicine and design, focusing on the positive psychological and physiological impacts of serious games in VR. He has presented at the East Coast Game Conference and the Computer Simulation and Gaming Conference. He received a Master of Graphic Design from NC-State University, where he was the Dean’s Graduate Fellow of Graphic Design. Matthew was honored for his group’s graduate research with deaf or hard-of-hearing users and machine learning referenced in Helen Armstrong’s book, “Big Data, Big Design.”
