Events

Language Fair

Each year more than 1,000 high school students demonstrate their knowledge of world languages and cultures at the Annual Language Fair at the University of Memphis. The students compete in a variety of contests, including poetry recitation, writing, costumes, folk dance, drama, music, projects, crafts, and a culture bowl. Competitive events are conducted in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish.

Film Festivals

The various language sections in the department regularly offer film festivals to complement the academic programs we offer. Information about the festivals will be published in the Gazette, the weekly departmental newsletter.
