Why Study Chinese?

Experience Chinese culture: one of the world's oldest.

Taking Chinese fulfills some or all UM foreign language requirements, and fulfills some UM requirements for the major in Asian Studies and International Trade.

A minor in Chinese requires a total of 18 semester hours consisting of CHIN 1020, 2010, and 2020 (or their equivalents); and 9 upper division semester hours in the Chinese program.

Chinese can also be one the concentrations in the B.A. in World Languages.
