HTML Colors Defined

HTML Color Names are currently defined with HTML 5 as of this writing. W3Schools offers a nice, easy to see, and understandable when using these color names.


HTML 4 keyword color names:

  • aqua - <span style="color:aqua">aqua</span>
  • black - <span style="color:black">black</span>
  • blue - <span style="color:blue">blue</span>
  • fuchsia - <span style="color:fuchsia">fuchsia</span>
  • gray - <span style="color:gray">gray</span>
  • green - <span style="color:green">green</span>
  • lime - <span style="color:lime">lime</span>
  • maroon - <span style="color:maroon">maroon</span>
  • navy - <span style="color:navy">navy</span>
  • olive - <span style="color:olive">olive</span>
  • purple - <span style="color:purple">purple</span>
  • red - <span style="color:red">red</span>
  • silver - <span style="color:silver">silver</span>
  • teal - <span style="color:teal">teal</span>
  • white - <span style="color:white">white</span>
  • yellow - <span style="color:yellow">yellow</span>

These 16 colors defined in HTML 4.0 ([HTML40]). Color keywords have the form of identifiers. Keywords must not be placed between quotes ("..." or '...').
