About Upward Bound Program

What is Upward Bound?

Upward Bound (UB) is federally funded TRiO pre-college program to assists eligible students in their efforts to successfully complete high school and obtain a college education. UB provides high school students with comprehensive services designed to promote life-long learning and self-awareness. Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families; high school students from families in which either parent holds a bachelor's degree.

Summer Academy

Upward Bound Summer Academy is a
six-week summer experience held at
the University of Memphis main campus
giving students a taste of college life.

Will 'UB' my Mentor?

The "Will UB My Mentor?" program will
enhance and expand services to TRIO Upward
Bound students. The purpose of this mentoring
program is to connect UB students
with college students who are just like them.

TRiO Upward Bound SAB

The TRiO Student Advisory Board is an extension of
the TRiO Upward Bound (UB) Pre-College Academic Program.
It's a student-led program that serves to aid in
the enhancement of the leadership and
communication skills of all its participants.
