The Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) program is designed for registered nurses aiming to advance their careers by obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). This rigorous program focuses on developing the clinical expertise needed to manage acute, critical, and complex health conditions in adults and elderly patients. Students will engage in comprehensive coursework covering advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, and health assessment, alongside specialized training in acute care settings. The curriculum integrates evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, and leadership skills to ensure graduates are well-prepared for the dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment.

Clinical practicum experiences are a cornerstone of the program, providing hands-on training in diverse acute care settings under the mentorship of experienced practitioners. Graduates are equipped to work in various high-acuity environments, including hospitals, intensive care units, emergency departments, and specialty clinics. The AG-ACNP program also emphasizes the importance of holistic and patient-centered care, preparing nurses to address the complex needs of aging populations. By the end of the program, students will be ready to sit for national certification exams and assume advanced practice roles, contributing to the improvement of patient outcomes and the healthcare system.
