Graduate Certificate School Library Information Specialist

The School Library Information Specialist Graduate Certificate program leads to the TN Dept. of Education Library Information Specialist pre-K-12 endorsement (473). Six SLIS content courses are required for the add-on SLIS endorsement, plus an advanced clinical practicum in a school library that may be conducted on the job if already licensed in another area.

(Note: The student must already have a Master's degree to be admitted to the SLIS Graduate Certificate program; the State of TN Dept. of Education requires that school librarians also be certified as teachers.)

The program is designed for those people who seek to become school library information/media specialists. The program may or may not be acceptable for public or other library positions. Please contact us if you have any questions!
