Universal User ID (UUID)

Service Description:

The Universal User ID (UUID) is the username shared among various university services. Your UUID forms your email address as follows: UUID@memphis.edu. For students, the UUID is generated upon admission to the University. For new staff and faculty, the UUID is generated upon hire. A sponsored account's UUID is assigned upon approval of account creation.

Who can request (or is eligible) for this service?

UUIDs are automatically generated by the University system upon account creation. The University does not accept requests for custom UUIDs.

How to Request Service?

UUIDs are established when an individual becomes affiliated with the University (e.g., enrollment, hiring or account sponsorship).

What Information is Needed to Fulfill the Service Request?

When an individual submits the appropriate information to establish an affiliation with the University, a UUID is automatically generated.
