Events & News
The Title IX: Prevention Center, along with UofM students and community partners, host many events throughout the year. In the Fall semester, the regular events include Walk a Mile in Her Shoes and various information tables. In the Spring semester, the Title IX: Prevention Center and the registered student organization SAPAC coordinates Take Back the Night in March and the campus-wide Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in April.
Upcoming Events
Walk-a-Mile in Her Shoes will take place on Tuesday Septemeber 17, 2024. If it rains, join us on September 18.
All are welcome to join us walk against domestic and dating violence. Throw a pair of high heels on, if able, and meet us at Ramesses II Statue on Central Avenue to listen to campus and community members speak on the importance of supporting survivors of interpersonal violence. Afterwards, we will journey down Central and around the neighboring streets before making our way back to campus. Signs supporting survivors and heels will be available at the event.
While this walk has traditionally focused on men and boys to show up and show allyship to survivors of interpersonal violence, it has grown to be inclusive so that we can all be supportive of survivors no matter their gender identity or expression.
