How to Get a Bike

There is a non-refundable $35 Tiger Bike membership fee that must be paid each semester before you are able to check out a Tiger Bike. Students must be enrolled in the current semester in order to qualify. Faculty and staff employees are also eligible. All bike rental payments must be completed online. 

After payment, visit the Tiger Bike Shop, located at 616 Echles St. Memphis, TN 38111 (the small brick building at the northwest corner of the intramural fields, behind the Student Rec and Fitness Center). Bicycles will be available starting the first day classes and only during bike shop hours of operation. There is a limit on how many bicycles are released each day. Students may call ahead or stop by during shop hours to check availability for that day. You'll need to bring your University ID and allow 30 minutes to review program details, rules of the road, and you must sign a legal waiver and receive instruction on how to properly secure your Tiger Bike. Please note that your Tiger Bike is to be exchanged for a freshly maintained bike every two weeks. The online Tiger Bike Rental portal will only be accessible beginning on the first day of classes through the last day of classes for each semester.

To save time when you come to rent a Tiger Bike, you can download our Terms and Agreements document. You can print and complete it before you arrive, and bring it with you on your visit.
