Student Award: Tanvir Ahamed took second place in the students' poster presentation competition held at the 2019 KN/TN Water Professional Conference.

USDA-NIFA Research Grant: The Research proposal entitled "Microplastics Fate and Transport in Agricultural Soil System: Interrelation of Hydrodynamics, Chemistry, and Material Sciences", has been funded for $482,080 by USDA-NIFA program. This is a 4 year project effort and will be conducted in collaboration with Dr. Farhad Jazaei an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Memphis.

COVID-19 Response: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and extended campus closure, Dr. Salehi research team conducted an extensive drinking water sampling at 10 large buildings across the campus, developed the flushing protocols to replace the old water with fresh drinking water, and finally conducted the flushing practices. covid-1

 Master Thesis Defense

Tanvir Ahamed has successfully defended his Master Thesis entitled "Investigate the Role of Biofilm and Water Chemistry on Lead Deposition onto and Release from Polyethylene: An Implication for Potable Water Pipes". His paper has been published at the Journal of Hazardous Materials.
