SUAPP Leadership
Dr. Katherine Lambert-Pennington
Dr. Lambert-Pennington has a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology and a graduate certificate in African and African American Studies from Duke University. She serves as the Director of School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (SUAPP) and an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Memphis.
Her research focuses on community development, food justice, social inequalities, participatory action research, and community-university partnerships and engaged scholarship. Full Bio
Dr. Charlie Santo
Dr. Santo has a Ph.D in Urban Studies from Portland State University. He serves as the associate director of the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (SUAPP). His research and teaching focus on urban economic analysis, public finance and planning, and planning research methods. He is co-author of Sport and Public Policy: Social, Political and Economic Perspectives. He is currently involved in the Memphis 3.0 plan with the City of Memphis and other projects throughout the community.
Dr. Davia Downey
Dr. Downey has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Eastern Michigan University. She serves as the director of the Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and an associate professor in the Department of Public and Nonprofit Administration at the University of Memphis.
