Master class - Elemental Explorations

The course explores the cohesion of elemental movement and music and the philosophical underpinnings of the Schulwerk. The participants will study the historical foundations of the Schulwerk and explore creating elemental music throughout the week. The primary focus of thismasterclass is to free ourselves of the pre-written compositions and create new starting points inspired from a myriad of sources: movement, poetry, artifacts, etc. The participants create pieces organically with peers, the week is very collaborative, and movement is embedded throughout each day. Beyond classroom pedagogy, this masterclass focuses on creating as teacher-artists through extended development of elemental material.
