Objective

PH-IDEAS conceptual framework will address the issues of health inequities through the lens of human-centered design approach combined with principles of learning, behavioral, humanistic theories, and information processing theory focused on three key areas:

  1. Workforce Development
  2. Foundational Capabilities
  3. Data Modernization

 

Strategic Goals

This program has three important strategies that will achieve the goals:

Workforce Development

  1. Recruit and hire new public health staff.
  2. Retain public health staff.
  3. Support and sustain the public health workforce.
  4. Train new and existing public health staff.
  5. Strengthen workforce planning, systems, processes, and policies.
  6. Strengthen support for the implementation of this agreement. 

Foundational Capabilities

  1. Strengthen accountability and performance management, including accreditation.
  2. Strengthen organizational competencies addressing information technology, human resources, financial management, contract, and procurement services.
  3. Enhance communications.
  4. Enhance or increase policy development and legal services and analysis.
  5. Strengthen community partnership development and engagement.
  6. Improve equity and organizational competencies addressing leadership, governance, and strategic planning.

Data Modernization

  1. Establish a modern and interoperable data infrastructure.
  2. Provide SCHD with a platform for more efficient information sharing and communication.
  3. Offer systematic training to SCHD employees on skills in operating modernized data.
  4. Innovate projects to accelerate implementation.
