The University of Memphis School of Public Health (SPH) is committed to achieving excellence in public health education and research while making a real difference in our community and providing many opportunities for our students to learn and grow.

Student Life at School of Public Health

At the University of Memphis School of Public Health, we host a variety of events designed to connect, inspire, and engage our community. From guest lectures, professional development workshops, community outreach programs, and research seminars, our events create opportunities for students, faculty, and professionals to learn and collaborate. Students also enjoy a vibrant campus life at the University of Memphis School of Public Health. The school frequently organizes events like picnics, socials and potlucks, among others, that bring our diverse community of students and staff together.

Monthly PhD Student Colloquiums, 2024

The School of Public Health hosts monthly colloquiums during the fall and spring semesters for doctoral students to share their research projects in a low-stress environment and receive feedback from both their peers and mentors within the SPH.

Faculty, Staff, and Student Awards

At the end of every spring semester, The School of Public Health hosts an award ceremony to recognize the great achievements of our faculty, staff, and students for their work at the school, in the community settings of Memphis, and beyond.

Career and Internship Fair, November 2024

The School of Public Health also hosts a bi-annual career and internship fair (one during the fall semester and one during the spring semester) under the direction of the SPH Office of Experiential Learning and Career Services. The SPH is dedicated to supporting the successes of students enrolled in our programs and providing them with many opportunities to enhance their professional portfolios.

Dean's Grand Rounds

The School of Public Health hosts a Dean's Grand Rounds series where we invite leaders and scholars from all domains of public health to present as guest speakers throughout the academic year.
