Visit with Shelby County Commissioner Charlie Caswell

February 13, 2025 - Dean Ashish Joshi and Community Outreach Representative Steve Shular recently met with Shelby County Commissioner Charlie Caswell to discuss the impact of the School of Public Health’s high school public health clubs and dual enrollment program. Commissioner Caswell was eager to hear success stories from these initiatives and explore ways to expand their reach.  

Looking ahead, the School of Public Health plans to increase student and staff involvement across additional Shelby County Government bureaus, including Community Social Services, the Corrections Center, Re-Entry Services and the Emergency Management Agency.  SPH has already maintains a strong partnership with the Shelby County Health Department and continues to broaden its engagement in public health efforts across the country.
