SPH Senior Scholar Visits the University of Memphis

July 29, 2024 - University of Memphis School of Public Health Senior Scholar, Professor Neville Calleja, visited campus in the month of July to explore public health collaborations in areas of adolescent health and well-being, and enhancing innovative ways of addressing public health challenges in Malta that are very similar to Memphis. Professor Calleja is a Full Professor and Head of Department for Public Health within the Faculty of Medicine & Surgery of the University of Malta.

He is also the Director for Health Information and Statistics within the Ministry of Health in Malta. Dr. Calleja had an opportunity to meet the University leadership including Provost Russomanno and Jasbir to discuss opportunities of collaboration including expanding research. In addition, Dr. Calleja will also help expand experiential learning opportunities for students in public health supporting the newly driven University’s United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) partnership.
