Dual Degree: Master of Public Health (MPH) at University of Memphis School of Public Health, and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) at University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy
As a dual degree PharmD/MPH student, I have been fortunate enough to gain real world experience and understanding of the intersectionality between public health and pharmacy. One of my most recent experiences included a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in collaboration with the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. Through this fellowship, I was able to combine my growing pharmaceutical expertise and public health knowledge to conduct a research project under seasoned epidemiologists at the CDC. My research focused on measles outbreaks in the United States post elimination and the impact of social vulnerability. I am grateful for this exposure, and I attribute much of my success to both the University of Memphis School of Public Health and The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy.
