Lowe's Leadership Experience
Overview
Fogelman College of Business & Economics (FCBE), the Center for Professional Career Development (CPCD) and Lowe’s have partnered to create an exclusive mentorship opportunity for 10 outstanding business students who are interested in careers in leadership. Selected students will complete three 1-hour training sessions, led by local industry experts, that focus on various leadership topics and career development.
In addition to these sessions, Marvin Ellison (FCBE Alumnus | BBA ’89), chairman & CEO of Lowe’s, will graciously host the students at the Lowe’s Headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. for an immersive, hands-on training experience which will be held Spring 2025.
During the visit students will have the opportunity to work directly with and learn from Lowe’s key leadership. Students may also be considered for potential full-time career placements at Lowe’s upon completion of their academic degree program.
In addition to invaluable real-world connections, our Lowe’s Leadership students will also receive:
- Round-trip accommodations to visit Lowe's Headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.
- Exclusive mentorship and training sessions with C-suite executives
Eligibility Requirements
- Full-time FCBE major (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Management Information
Systems, Marketing & Supply Chain Management)
- FCBE Junior, Senior or Graduate student in good academic standing
- GPA 3.0+
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and/or 20+ volunteer hours of philanthropic service

- It is preferred that only one reference is from a UofM professor/employee.
- The second reference should be from someone in the community.
- Statement of Purpose/Essay (250-500 words)
- Demonstrating any leadership roles you have held, your commitment to philanthropic endeavors and/or why you believe participation in this program will positively benefit you, both personally and professionally.
