International Student Appointment
Project Scope:
Create better communications for all those involved with the hiring of International
students including information on federal requirements and regulations, timelines
to meet those requirements and how those relate to university deadlines for the first
day worked and payroll.
Including in the review:
- Insurance requirements
- When student eligible to apply for SSN card (must be in country 10 days before eligible to apply)
- I94 – arrival and departure dates into country
- I20 – proof accepted into a degree program
- I9 – what documents are required for proof of ID
- Create a timeline starting with 1st day of work and document backwards to when they must arrive in the country
- Create a guideline for hiring GAs
