Campus Access Restrictions
Project Scope:
Determine best practices to notify all appropriate offices when a student's access
to university resources need to be removed immediately. Review current processes relating to
Maxient system updates, placing hold on student's Banner record and the notification
process. Review if appropriate offices are being notified (Admissions, Registrar,
Police Services main campus and Lambuth).
PROPOSED TIMELINE: April - May 2018
Project Outcomes:
- Banner IDs will be created for non-affiliated persons who receive a police situation
- This will allow the office of Student Conduct to place admission holds on those persons
- Banner training will be held for Student Conduct office how to create Banner IDs
Two new hold types have been created that will easily identify action needed:
- Expulsion - stop all activity relating to recruitment, communications, transcripts, access to IT computing resources
- Suspension - stop activity related to recruitment, communication, transcript, etc, but continue access IT resource
- IT will remove computing access when requested by the Student Conduct Office
- Maxient software will send automated email notifications for the Registrar, Admissions, IT Security and Academic Innovations when action needs to be taken.
- New campus policy has been created to address these types of actions.
