Mid-Year Compensation Adjustments
Dear Faculty and Staff,
You will recall that the University implemented a 3% across-the-board compensation adjustment effective July 1, 2022. When the compensation plan was developed for this financial year, we made a commitment to review our financial standing after fall 2022 enrollments were finalized to determine if a mid-year additional compensation adjustment was feasible. While our domestic undergraduate enrollments continue to be challenged, our intentional efforts to increase graduate enrollments effectively offset the negative financial impacts and projections indicate that overall revenues will meet our budget this year.
As such, considering the input from faculty and staff and communications we have had with the faculty and staff leadership, the UofM will be implementing the following mid-year compensation adjustments:
- .5% one-time salary supplement which will be paid this month, November 2022
- .5% across-the-board base salary increase, which will be effective January 1, 2023
The above one-time payment and the across-the-board (ATB) compensation adjustment apply to 12-month faculty and staff hired on or before July 1, 2022, and to all 9-month and 10-month faculty hired on or before September 1, 2022. Employees must be actively employed on the date of payment to be eligible.
We have several efforts underway to address our domestic enrollment challenges, and we will be communicating information about these efforts to the campus community shortly.
Thank you for helping make our campus and community a better place, one that plays a vital role in the lives of so many.
Regards,
Bill Hardgrave
President
