Payroll Information for New Employees

Things to Know

  • All State employees are required by Tennessee state mandate to have direct deposit as a condition of employment.

  • Your direct deposit information must first go through our prenotification process.  Your information will be sent to your bank as a test transaction of $0.00 in order to verify your account before any funds are submitted to that account on your behalf.

  • Because of this prenotification process, generally everyone’s first payroll check (check dates detailed below in the Payroll Schedules) is a paper check that can be picked up in the Payroll Office (272 Administration Building) within 10 days of payday.  Once 10 days have passed, the check will be mailed to the address of record on the check.
