Welcome to the University of Memphis!  We are so excited to welcome you and your family into the University of Memphis community.  Below you will find important information for your student as they prepare to attend the University of Memphis. 

Important Dates & Deadlines

Fall 2020

  • August 11 at 4:30 pm: Fee Payment Deadline
  • August 12: Residence Hall Move-In
  • August 17: First Day of Classes
  • August 26: Last Day to Add or Change Sections
  • August 30: Drop Period Ends
    • Courses dropped on or before this date will not have grades assigned and will not appear on transcript
  • September 7: Labor Day (University Closed)
  • Withdrawal Period Ends: October 2
    • Courses dropped during this period will have "W" grades assigned and appear on transcript
  • November 17: Last Day of Classes
  • November 18-24: Exams
  • November 26-29: Thanksgiving Holiday (University Closed)
  • December 15: Fall 2020 Grades Final

Spring 2021

  • November 9: 1st Day to Register
  • January 18: M. L. King, Jr. Holiday (University Closed)
  • January 19: First Day of Classes
  • January 22: Last Day to Add or Change Sections
  • February 1: Drop Period Ends
    • Courses dropped on or before this date will not have grades assigned and will not appear on transcript
  • March 8-9: Student Wellness Break (No Classes)
  • March 19: Withdrawal Period Ends
    • Courses dropped during this period will have "W" grades assigned and appear on transcript
  • April 8-9: Student Wellness Break (No Classes)
  • April 27: Last Day of Classes
  • April 28-29: Study Day (No Classes)
  • April 30-May 6: Exams
  • May 13: Spring 2021 Grades Final

Living On and Off Campus

We encourage students to live on campus their first year of college as it gives them the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the college experience and to get involved on campus.  For more information on the residence options available to students, please visit the Residence Life website

For students who live off campus, there are a variety of options within walking distance or a short drive from the university. 

Meal Plans

Whether living on or off campus, there are a variety of meal plan options for all of our students.  Please Tiger Dining to view the various options. 

Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment
