Frequently Asked Questions
There are a couple of different things that could be going on here. First, please make sure that you've completed your Website Access training. This training is divided into two parts: SiteImprove and Omni CMS. The SiteImprove portion of training requires a certificate, while the Omni CMS portion only requires the completion of the Acknowledgment form. When you complete both portions of training, you receive an e-mail from UMTech that both confirms you've completed these two sections of training, and also lists the site (or sites) you are now responsible for maintaining.
If you have already completed training, then you should now make sure that you are 'Signing-In' via the site you maintain. For example, for Omni CMS training, your user account only had access to sign in from Omni CMS Training Site . So if you were to try signing in from a different site, like the University of Memphis front page for example, you would get an 'Access Denied' error message since your account does not have permission to edit this site.
If you are signing in via the site you are supposed to have access to, then it is possible your account does not have access to this site. Please submit a ticket to umhelpdesk.memphis.edu to request additional assistance.
Usually, whenever an image is not displaying properly on a page, it is because the image wasn't published after it was uploaded. In order for an image or document to be live on your site, it must be published after it is uploaded. To resolve, please publish the image.
Saving and publishing these files do not automatically apply changes to the rest of the pages in your microsite. If you update one of the slideshow files, then your site's landing page (/oucampustraining/index.pcf) is the only page that needs to be published in order for the changes to take affect. If you update one of the navigation files (section_config, socialmedia, site_config, etc.), then your site's entire folder must republished in order for the changes to be applied site-wide. To request a folder republish, please submit a ticket to umhelpdesk.memphis.edu.
Binary files (like Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets and Powerpoint Presentation) will only prompt the visitor to download these files. If you would like these files to be viewable in browser, please save the file as a PDF, then re-upload and publish to the directory of your choice.
Only site Administrators can access the Recycle Bin, please submit a ticket to umhelpdesk.memphis.edu to request assistance with retrieving a deleted file.
This is something that will need to be fixed from our end. Please submit a ticket to umhelpdesk.memphis.edu to request assistance with resolving this error message.
To access assets, click on 'Contents' in the horizontal navigation menu at the top of the screen, then select 'Assets'. If you do not see 'Assets', then we will need to grant your account access. To request access, please submit a ticket to umhelpdesk.memphis.edu. To expedite this process, please let us know whether or not you'd like access to some or all of the available assets.
