Brad Harrell

The Assistant Dean of Nursing Transitions to Assistant Dean for Community Partnerships and Practice

July 24, 2024 – Effective August 1, 2024, Dr. Bradley Harrell will assume the role of Assistant Dean for Community Partnerships and Practice, based full-time at the Memphis Campus. This new position will be pivotal in advancing LCON's clinical engagements and strategic goals.

As Assistant Dean for Community Partnerships and Practice (ADCPP), he will be responsible for planning, administering, and continuously improving faculty practice and community partnerships. Dr. Harrell will serve as a liaison with community engagement and collaborative programs, ensuring they develop effectively and sustainably. His efforts will focus on seeking, developing, implementing, and evaluating internal and external partnerships related to practice, including securing funding sponsors, to achieve the College's faculty practice and community engagement goals.

One of the key initiatives under Dr. Harrell’s leadership will be the launch of the LCON Clinic within the UofM Community Health Building/Loewenberg College of Nursing. This clinic is envisioned to be a cornerstone of our community engagement efforts, providing high-quality healthcare services, student learning opportunities, and faculty practice. Dr. Harrell will oversee all aspects of the clinic's operations, including clinical practice, education, scholarship, administration, and collaborative functions. His role will be akin to that of a founding executive, providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the clinic and practice enterprise are launched effectively.

In tandem with this transition, LCON will soon appoint a faculty member to serve as the Director of the Lambuth campus. This decision aligns with the university’s vision of Lambuth as an extension of the main campus. The Division Directors, Associate Deans, and Dean of Nursing will manage Lambuth campus operations, ensuring seamless integration and consistent oversight across both campuses.

The establishment of these roles and the upcoming initiatives signify the college's commitment to enhancing community partnerships, clinical engagements, and educational excellence. Stay tuned for further updates as LCON embarks on these transformative steps.
