About Tracy Collins

Dr. Tracy Collins primarily instructs in the Loewenberg College of Nursing (LCON) Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner program. An Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) and educator. Dr. Collins has more than 23 years of experience in nursing education and as a nurse practitioner combined. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner (FNP). Dr. Collin's experience as a nurse practitioner has been with diverse populations in primary care. She is a Clinical Professor and the Director of the FNP program. Dr. Collins has served as the clinical coordinator of FNP program at The University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing (UoM LCON) and has been a professor and clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students for the last 15 years of her career.

Dr. Collins has developed courses, coordinated student lab experiences, organized guest speakers for FNP student intensives, vetted preceptors and served as the FNP clinical coordinator. She has developed an online orientation course for LCON’s FNP program which served as a model for the development of LCON’s online clinical faculty orientation. Her publications have focused on family nurse practitioner education. She currently serves as Program Director on the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) grant.
