About Felesha Perry
Dr. Perry currently works as an FNP in Long-Term Care. She is both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
Dr. Perry currently teaches the didactic course in undergraduate Health Assessment and coordinates the Health Assessment Labs. She also teaches in the FNP program in Advanced Health Assessment and FNP clinical courses. Her past teachings include Adult Health Clinical, Advanced Adult Health Clinical, Population Focus Clinical, and Health Assessment for the RN-BSN program.
Her research focus has been on UTI's in long-term care and the use of the SHEA criteria in the diagnosis of these UTI's. Her education includes a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) - University of Memphis; Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) – Arkansas State University Adult Health: Clinical Nurse Specialist; Post-Masters Nursing Education- Arkansas State University; Post-Masters FNP- University of Memphis; and a DNP- University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
Dr. Perry serves on the Graduate Council and the Undergraduate Council. In the past, she has served on the Technology Committee and Student Affairs committee, while serving as one of the Faculty Advisors for the Student Nurses Association (SNA).She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA), Sigma Theta Tau International, Delta Sigma Theta (DST) Sorority, and Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority.
She enjoys spending time with her family. Her hobbies include shopping, traveling, and watching football and basketball.
