Post-Graduate Certificate
The Loewenberg College of Nursing (LCON) Graduate Program offers courses of study designed to prepare students for careers in specialty areas of professional nursing. It accommodates the needs of MSN graduates who want to practice in another advanced nursing specialty area.

Executive Leadership | Program of study for masters-prepared nurses interested in management and executive nursing roles in various healthcare settings. |
Family Nurse Practitioner | Formal program of study for masters-prepared nurses interested in taking the national certification exam to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. |
Nursing Education | Program of study for masters-prepared nurses interested in obtaining a credential allowing them to teach in the School of Nursing. |
Post-Graduate Curriculum
Post-MSN Nursing Education and Family Nurse Practitioner certificate students are required to complete the following courses prior to enrolling in specialty nursing courses:
- Advanced Pharmacology (3 credit hours)
- Advanced Pathophysiology (3 credit hours)
- Advanced Health Assessment with Clinical or Lab (4 credit hours)
Courses are offered both online as well as on campus. Program length varies depending on the selected concentration.
The Post-Graduate's Certificate Program can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis. Students may transfer credit hours with approval from the Academic Dean. Students graduating from a Master's Entry Professional Nursing Program, for example, the MSN Clinical Nurse Leader program, are required to complete NURS 7003 Advanced Role Development; additional MSN courses may be required based on a Post-MSN gap analysis.
