Biography
Jon Frazer is the Division Head of the Music Industry Division, and Coordinator of the Recording Technology Program at The University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music. As an Associate Professor and Recording Studio Manager, his responsibilities include program management, studio management, curriculum development as well as instruction in Recording Studio Technology; Advanced Mixing, Mastering, and Surround Sound; and Live Sound Reinforcement. He is the faculty advisor for Audio Engineering Society Memphis Chapter. Mr. Frazer has a B.A. in Telecommunications from Michigan State University with additional studies at the University of Surrey, Tonmeister program, Guildford, England and an M.S. in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership from University of Memphis.
Prior to his arrival in Memphis, Mr. Frazer served on the faculty of Grand Rapids Community College. Mr. Frazer has recorded projects for RCA, Atlantic, Columbia, Warner Bros., and Universal as well as independent labels; has toured nationally and internationally spanning 14 different countries and has been awarded gold and platinum records for his work in those areas. Mr. Frazer's professional affiliations include membership in the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and the Audio Engineering Society. He joined the faculty of the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music in 2002.
