The University of Memphis Wind Ensemble
With a goal of being one of the finest ensembles of its kind, the University of Memphis Wind Ensemble is comprised of the most exceptional graduate and undergraduate instrumentalists attending the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music.
The ensemble is dedicated to delivering artistic performances that are both eloquent and meticulously prepared. The quest of the Wind Ensemble is to achieve the highest degree of professionalism possible, and to bring its audiences the finest artistic repertoire regardless of the period or style.
Performing multiple times on campus annually, the Wind Ensemble also performs on historic Memphis stages like the Levitt Shell, conferences and festivals, and frequently tours the Mid-South.
The University of Memphis Wind Ensemble is proud of its former members who now hold positions in symphony orchestras, military bands, and collegiate faculties around the world
The Wind Ensemble is conducted by Dr. Albert Nguyen, director of bands and area coordinator for large ensembles.
Auditions for the University of Memphis Wind Ensemble are held each semester.
