The University of Memphis University Singers
The University of Memphis University Singers is the award-winning flagship ensemble
in the UofM Choral Program. Selected through a competitive audition process, this
SATB choir is led by Dr. Francis Cathlina, director of choral activities.
Though composed primarily of undergraduate and graduate students within the Rudi E.
Scheidt School of Music, the University Singers welcomes singers from all majors with
a love for choral music. The ensemble presents a wide variety of repertoire through
conceptual programming, enhanced by the practice of Choregie. Equipped with a robust
performance schedule and annual touring schedule, the ensemble’s musicians deliver
compelling performances to sold-out audiences both at home and abroad.
Recent performances include an invitation to perform at the 2024 College Music Society
National Conference, the 2024 Tennessee Music Educators Association conference, a
2023 international tour to Greece, and tours throughout the United States.
