Participants of all ages and performance levels are invited to join Rudi E. Scheidt
School of Music for Double Reed Day!
The University of Memphis oboe and bassoon professors Michelle Vigneau and Daryn Zubke
invite you to attend a day of master classes, workshops and a double reed choir.
Participants will enjoy a day full of master classes, artist recitals and the Double Reed Ensemble. A separate reed-making masterclass will offer multiple stations showing guests how to make reeds step-by-step. The final reed station will be with our guest artists where they will show how to finish a reed.
All participants make reeds, play double reed chamber music together, and get the opportunity to meet and work with other double reed players throughout the Greater Memphis community. This event is a great chance to get to spend time with other oboists and bassoonists (since we are so often few and far between), to learn from each other and to enrich further and strengthen our skills and our musicianship.
All ages and ability levels are welcome to attend!
