Diversity Ambassador Program (DAP)
The Diversity Ambassador Program (DAP) encourages students to take an active role on campus and promote awareness toward issues of multiculturalism, equality, and social justice.
Goals
- Create a dialog about diversity from a multicultural perspective
- Conduct educational programs and outreach initiatives that support a constructive dialog about issues, including but not limited to: stereotypes, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, gender, and socioeconomic status
- Increase student awareness and respect for cultural similarities and differences
- Serve as representatives and advocates for Multicultural Affairs
Qualifications
Diversity Ambassadors must:
- Be University of Memphis students in good standing
- Able to attend scheduled mandatory trainings
- Demonstrate an appreciation for diversity
- Exhibit academic excellence, strong communication skills and strong leadership potential
