Minor in Professional Selling

Minor Outline

 

The Professional Selling minor prepares students for a career involving Sales, either as their primary focus or as a supplement to other career opportunities in other business areas. The program provides both applicable coursework in Sales and Negotiation, as well as experiential learning in interpersonal engagement. 


Below are the course requirements for a minor in Professional Selling.

  • KEY
    • "FCBE Majors" = this course list is for any FCBE student pursuing a degree from any FCBE department 
    • "Non-FCBE Majors" = this course list is for all other UofM students pursing a degree outside FCBE

FCBE Majors -  9 hours
  • MKTG 3410 - Building Buyer/Seller Relationships
  • MKTG 4470 - Essentials of Negotiation 

+ 1 Course (3 hours) Chosen by the Student from the Following:

  • MKTG 3140 - Integrated Marketing Communications 
  • MKTG 3320 - Retailing Management 
  • MKTG 4410 - Sales Management
  • SCMS 2610 - Introduction to Supply Chain Management

Non-FCBE Majors -  18 hours
  • MKTG 3010 - Principles of Marketing
  • MKTG 3410 - Building Buyer/Seller Relationships
  • MKTG 4470 - Essentials of Negotiation 
  • MKTG 4410 - Sales Management

+ 2 Courses (6 hours) Chosen by the Student from the Following:

  • MKTG 3012 - Consumer Insights 
  • MKTG 3140 - Integrated Marketing Communications 
  • MKTG 3320 - Retailing Management 
  • SCMS 2610 - Introduction to Supply Chain Management
