AMIS Cybersecurity Challenge - 2024

Key Dates
  • Fri. October 25 - Budget Proposal Presentation due
  • Fri. November 1 - Finalists Notified
  • Wed. November 13 - presentation summarizing the team’s analysis and findings due
  • Fri. November 15 - AMIS Cybersecurity Challenge

 

Items Needed for Submission 

  • A concise Powerpoint presentation, summarizing the team’s budget proposal, must be submitted by Friday, October 25th.  

    • Formatting requirements:
      • At least 12pt font, in a professional layout and format (suitable for a C-suite level audience). 

    • Content requirements:
      • APA title page which specifies the team's name, the names of the participants and the topic chosen.  
      • Overall budget, including a breakdown into people, services, technology. 
      • Supporting analysis to justify decisions (I.e., to support necessity of proposed items based on frameworks, threats, risks, requirements, benefits, and cost). 

  • Finalists will be notified by Friday, November 1st and will be required to submit a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the team’s analysis and findings by Wednesday, November 13th, in preparation for a 10–15-minute presentation in front of a judging panel at the AMIS Cybersecurity Challenge on Friday, November 15th in FCB 118.  

 

How to Submit Proposal

 

After You Submit

  • You will receive an automated message in Canvas acknowledging your submission.
     
  • Teams selected as Finalists will be notified via email, by AMIS, on Friday, November 1st.  

  • Finalists will present their work in front of an industry-led judging panel during the AMIS Technology Challenge to be held in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics (FCB 118) Friday, November 15th.  

 

Competition Rules

  • The project submission must be entirely the work of the student team. While faculty and other individuals from industry can help review the submission, they should not contribute to the content of the report or the solution. 

  • Incomplete submissions will not be considered. 

  • The contest materials must be submitted by the due dates. Late submissions will not be accepted, and no extensions will be given. 

  • Teams are limited to a maximum of 4 members. Teams can consist of high school, undergraduate and/or graduate students.  

  • All team members must have active paid membership ($20 for academic year) to AMIS.
