New Gift from Gilliland Family will Support Law School and Free Legal Clinics for Public
The family of the late James S. “Jim” Gilliland Sr. has made a generous $500,000 endowment gift to name the Legal Clinic at the UofM’s Cecil C. Humphreys Law School in honor of the Memphis-based legendary lawyer, philanthropist, community leader and longtime supporter of the UofM.

University of Memphis joins JED Campus to support student mental health
The University of Memphis has joined JED Campus in support of student well-being and mental health. The program is a nationwide initiative of The Jed Foundation (JED) https://www.jedfoundation.org/ designed to help schools evaluate and strengthen their mental health, substance misuse and suicide prevention programs and systems to ensure that schools have the strongest possible mental health safety nets.
Dr. Timothy F. Goldsmith Scholarship Fund established at UofM Lambuth
The Dr. Timothy F. Goldsmith Scholarship Fund has been created to support University of Memphis Lambuth psychology students who have expressed interest in a career in youth services. The scholarship has been established by the Goldsmith family in loving memory of Goldsmith, who passed away in September at 64 following a seventh-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

The Intermodal Freight Transportation Institute (IFTI) and the Center for Applied Earth Sciences and Engineering Research (CAESER) will merge to create the Division of Transportation and Logistics (DTL) within CAESER.

School of Accountancy Named in Recognition of Transformational Gift from Crews Family
The UofM Board of Trustees unanimously approved the naming of the Crews School of Accountancy in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics in recognition of a $5 million commitment by the Crews Family Foundation.
