University of Memphis Foundation Adds New Board Members
May 17, 2019 - The University of Memphis Foundation has added two new members to its Board of Directors.
Tanya Hart is senior vice president of Total Rewards at First Horizon. She is responsible for company-wide executive and broad-based compensation, benefits, HR systems, the HR call center and payroll functions. Hart joined the bank as a teller while completing her degree in finance at the UofM in 2000. She has also held other keys roles, including leadership training and financial planning. Hart received her MBA from Christian Brothers University and earned the designations Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional. She is a lifetime member of the University of Memphis Alumni Association.
For a decade, attorney Monica Wharton has served at nonprofit healthcare systems, including her current appointment as senior vice president and chief legal officer at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. Her experience includes strategic planning, joint ventures/affiliations, physician alignment, litigation management, corporate risk management and providing guidance on various state and federal regulations. Wharton has mentored a number of African-American female attorneys seeking opportunities in the healthcare industry and has recruited a diverse team of leaders.
