Students Build Healthy Communities at the University of Memphis
April 18, 2016- The Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis will host its annual Promise Day to encourage students to become successful in their careers, education and lifestyle choices. The event will be held Thursday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first floor of the FCBE. This year's theme is Building Healthy Communities.
Promise Day will include student-focused activities that showcase the benefits of giving back to the Memphis community. Students will have the opportunity to participate in fun, philanthropic, hands-on activities such as signing books that will be donated to the College's Adopt-a-School, Kingsbury Elementary; creating thank you cards to send to the Armed Forces serving overseas; and sending get well cards to children at local hospitals.
Representatives from the community, including International Paper, Kingsbury Elementary, Shelby Farms Conservancy, Peer Power and Boys and Girls Club of Greater Memphis, will be on hand to support the Promise Day purpose.
Promise Day is a celebration of the Complete Professional Program, which strives to help business majors succeed in their careers and life. FCBE students, faculty and staff are encouraged to make a commitment to do their best both professionally and personally, as well as to help the community thrive.
