Biography

Ashley H Pearson is a Management PhD Student in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at The University of Memphis. Her focus is organizational behavior and human resource management. Prior to entering the doctoral program, Ashley earned both her Bachelor of Science (Interdisciplinary Studies/Organizational Communications, Minor – Leadership) and Master of Arts (Industrial and Organizational Psychology) degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. During her master’s program, she worked for the consulting firm, Center for Organization and Human Resource Effectiveness (COHRE) as a senior project associate on projects for both private and public organizations, including several different state agencies. She led a multi-year project with a state-level environmental agency to develop fourteen certification exams. She also developed and conducted a promotions process, including job analysis, situational judgment tests, and panel-style structured interviews for both local and state-level law enforcement agencies. Prior to her time at MTSU, Ashley worked in the healthcare industry in various non-medical/business-focused leadership roles. Applying her industry and consulting experience to research, Ashley focuses on organizational behavior and human resource-related topics. She has presented her research at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, as well as the Association of Psychological Sciences. She has a book review published in Personnel Psychology and is the current PhD Representative for CARMA.
