Biography

Dr. Stephen E. Lanivich, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at The University of Memphis. He received his B.B.A. in Finance and M.A. in Economics from the Walsh College of Business and PhD in Business Administration from The Florida State University.

Dr. Lanivich’s research interests include the entrepreneurial mindset and cognitions, entrepreneurs’ perceptions of resources, and opportunity recognition and fit. His work has appeared in such journals as Entrepreneurship: Theory & Practice, The Journal of Management, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, The Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations, Management Decision, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, among others.

Dr. Lanivich’s work has been featured in prominent media outlets, such as The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, London School of Economics Business Review and Forbes.
